Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to track water?

No. Choose “Use without an account” on the sign-in screen to log drinks, view history and statistics, configure reminders, and confirm a drink. Guest data stays on the current device and is kept separate from signed-in account data.

Why are my selected apps not being shielded?

In Settings > Lock other apps, confirm that Screen Time access is authorized and select at least one app, category, or website. Without permission or a selection, only Hydration Bear's own reminder screen appears.

What if drink recognition does not work?

Check camera permission, keep your face and cup visible, and take a natural sip in good light. If recognition is unsuccessful, use manual confirmation to continue.

Why did a reminder not arrive on time?

Check iPhone notification permissions, Focus settings, and confirm that a reminder schedule is saved and the frequency is not set to Never. iOS may make small timing adjustments based on device conditions.

How do I turn reminders off?

Open Reminder settings, choose Never, and save. Hydration Bear cancels pending local notifications and scheduled shielding for selected apps. Choose another interval to turn reminders back on.

How do I delete records or my account?

Signed-in and guest users can delete hydration records under Settings > Clear all records. Signed-in users can also go to Settings > Profile > Account information and choose Delete account. Email accounts are deleted from the server and device; local Apple sign-in data is deleted from the device.
